Designed as a home for the creative life of the University of Chicago campus and the city of Chicago, the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts is a partner, resource, and catalyst for developing deeper cultural networks and richer creative projects citywide and beyond. The Logan Center is a place where boundaries dissolve and artistic work is amplified through a web of collaborative partners. More than just a building, it is an innovative hub for arts education for UChicago students and Chicago-land students and families, a platform to showcase today’s most innovative creators across all media, and a locus for impactful and collaborative artistic innovations with partners in nearby South Side communities and across Chicago.

Parking

Street Parking

Street parking is available around the Midway Plaisance and all around campus.

Parking Garage

The preferred visitors parking garage is located at Drexel Avenue and 61st Street. The garage opens at 9am on weekdays. The parking rate is $4 per hour.

Parking Lot

The parking lot at the corner of Drexel Avenue and 60th Street is free on weekends and after 4 pm on weekdays. This lot includes accessible parking spaces. Enter on E. 60th Street, one half-block west of S. Drexel Avenue.

Driving

From the north:

US-94 Dan Ryan Expressway: Take the Dan Ryan Expressway south and exit on Garfield Boulevard. Take Garfield Boulevard east to S. Martin Luther King Drive. Turn right onto S. Martin Luther King Drive and drive to E. 60th Street. Turn left onto 60th Street and drive to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

Lake Shore Drive:

Take Lake Shore Drive south to the E. 57th Street cutoff. Bear right onto E. 57th Street. E. 57th Street will become S. Cornell Avenue. Continue on S. Cornell, which will become Midway Plaisance. Continue west on Midway Plaisance to S. Woodlawn Avenue. Turn left and take S. Woodlawn Avenue to E. 60th Street. Take a right onto E. 60th Street and drive to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the left.

From the south:

US-94 Dan Ryan Expressway: Take the Dan Ryan Expressway north and exit E. 59th Street. Take E. 59th Street east to S. Martin Luther King Drive. Turn right onto S. Martin Luther King Drive and drive to E. 60th Street. Turn left onto 60th Street and drive to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

From the west:

US-88 Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway Take the highway east to the US-290 Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. Take the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway east and then south to the US-94Dan Ryan Expressway. Take the Dan Ryan Expressway south and exit on Garfield Boulevard. Take Garfield Boulevard east to S. Martin Luther King Drive. Turn right onto S. Martin Luther King Drive and drive to E. 60th Street. Turn left onto 60th Street and drive to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

Public Transportation

From the north:

CTA Red Line Train Route: Board the train going south towards 95th/Dan Ryan. Exit the train at the 63rd Street stop. Take the #63 going east on East 63rd Street to the 63rd and South Drexel Avenue stop and exit the bus. Walk north on South Drexel toward East 60th Street. The Logan Center will be on the right between East 61st Street and East 60th Street.

Metra: Take the Metra south to the 59th Street (University of Chicago) stop and exit the train. Walk west down East 59th Street to South Ellis Avenue. Turn left onto South Ellis Avenue and proceed south until you reach East 60th Street. Turn right onto 60th Street and walk to 915 East 60th Street. The Logan Center will be on the left.

From the Loop:

CTA Bus #2: Board the #2 at Navy Pier, on Michigan Avenue between Ontario and Lower Wacker, on State Street between Lake and Balbo, or on Columbus Drive south of Grant Park and Balbo Avenue. Take the south route and exit on the E. 60th Street and S. Ellis Avenue stop. Walk west on E. 60th Street to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the left.

CTA Bus #4: Board the #4 south on Michigan Avenue. Take the south route and exit on S. Cottage Grove and E. 60th Street. Walk east on E. 60th to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

CTA Bus #192: Board the #192 going south at Clinton at Madison, Clinton at Jackson, or Roosevelt at State. Take the south route and exit on the 59th Street and S. Ellis Avenue stop. Walk south on Ellis Avenue across the Midway Plaisance. Take a right and go west on 60th Street to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center on your left.

From the south:

Drexel to E. 60th Street. Turn right onto E. 60th Street and walk East to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

From Kenwood:

CTA Bus #4: Board the #4 going south on Cottage Grove. Take the south route and exit at S. Cottage Grove and E. 60th Street. Walk East on E. 60th to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

CTA Bus #X28: Board the #X28 going south on S. Lake Park. Exit at the Stony Island and E. 60th Street stop. Walk west on E. 60th for about 15 minutes to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the left.

Metra: Take the Metra south to the 59th (U. of Chicago) stop. Walk west on E. 59th Street to S. Ellis Avenue. Turn left onto S. Ellis Avenue and continue south to E. 60th Street. Take a right onto 60th Street and walk to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the left.

From Woodlawn:

CTA Bus #4: Board the #4 going north on S. Cottage Grove Avenue. Take the north route and exit E. 60th Street. Walk east on E. 60th Street to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center is on the right.

From Washington Park:

CTA Bus #59: Take the #59 going East on W. 59th Street. Take the east route and exit at E. 61st Street and S. Ingleside Avenue. Walk North on S. Ingleside to E. 60th Street. Turn left onto E. 60th Street and walk West to 915 E. 60th Street. The Logan Center on your Left.

Accessibility

Access North Entrance: Entrance is accessible, and drop-offs are permitted. Ramp is located next to stairs. Located at 915 E. 60th Street, between S. Drexel Avenue and S. Ingleside Avenue.

Access South Entrance: Entrance is accessible, and drop-offs are generally permitted. However, please contact the Logan Center in advance of your visit, as the car entrance to the south entrance is occasionally closed. Located on S. Drexel Avenue, one half-block south of E. 60th Street.

There are three elevators in the Logan Center. Two elevators near the north entrance services all floors, from the Lower Level to Level 10. An elevator nearer the south entrance, located at the east end of the Gidwitz Lobby, services the Lower Level, Level 1, and Level 2.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be requested at both welcome desks. All public performance and exhibition spaces including the Gallery, Performance Hall, Theater East, Theater West, Performance Penthouse, and Screening Room are equipped to accommodate wheelchair users. When possible, please provide advance notice so that Logan Center staff may accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. Because the Screening Room must be reconfigured to accommodate wheelchair users, advance notice is required.

Assisted listening devices for the Performance Hall, Theater East, and Theater West are available upon request upon arrival. Advanced notice of exceptionally large groups requiring assisted listening devices is appreciated.
