Ear Taxi Festival Tickets Are On Sale Now!
The organizers of Ear Taxi Festival ’25: The Composer’s Voice are pleased to announce that ticket sales go live today. Ear Taxi Festival is the Midwest’s largest contemporary concert music festival. It includes 24 curated concerts featuring more than 500 artists. A celebration of new and experimental music, Ear Taxi Festival returns to Chicago this fall for the first time since 2021. During the festival’s run from October 3 through November 2, Chicago music lovers will have the opportunity to experience the world premieres of 27 new commissions, most created by Illinois composers.
Ear Taxi Festival features a rich variety of concerts highlighting singers, choirs, chamber musicians, and orchestras - all committed to exploring the expressive power of the human voice and its interplay with instruments to tell stories that matter. The lineup of events includes large-scale operatic and orchestral performances, composer showcases, and chamber performances, as well as curated concerts in intimate settings like The CheckOut, a 60-seat venue opening next month on Chicago’s North Side.
In addition to 24 curated performances, Ear Taxi Festival also offers professional development opportunities for members of the music community. Damien Geter has been named as the festival’s first-ever Composer-in-Residence. Geter and others will host open lectures, panel discussions, jam sessions and other gatherings designed to unite Chicago’s music community by connecting composers, performers, educators, and audiences.
The complete lineup and tickets are available as of today at eartaxifestival.com. “We want to make this music accessible to a wide audience, so our ticket pricing reflects that desire,” said Ear Taxi Festival Executive Director Tim Corpus. Ticket prices for the festival’s large-scale anchor performances start at $20. Composer showcase tickets are $10. Student prices and “pay what you can” tickets are offered for smaller concerts.
With performances happening across all corners of the city, the Festival invites all Chicagoans - from seasoned listeners to first-time concertgoers - to engage with music that is fresh, fearless, and full of life.
