Saturday’s concert is a percussion extravaganza with the Third Coast Percussion premiering their collaborative composition Reaction Yield. They are joined by Spektral Quartet to perform Augusta Read Thomas’ Selene (Moon Chariot Rituals). The Chicago Harp Quartet reveals a kaleidoscopic new work—Plectra by Carolyn O’Brien, followed by Arcomusical celebrating the subtle sounds of the Afro-Brazilian berimbau. The program concludes with NOX by Drew Baker, a new work commissioned by Ear Taxi Festival played by numerous Festival musicians, performing from every corner the Harris Theater.
