David Reminick is a composer and performer living in Chicago. He is the singer/guitarist for the Chicago-based post-punk band Paper Mice, whose 2012 album The Funny Papers was released on the infamous San Diego label Three One G, and was the founding saxophonist for the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). David’s music has been performed and/or commissioned by the International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble Dal Niente, the Spektral Quartet, the Anubis Quartet, the H2 Quartet, Marcus Weiss, Wild and Wulliman, Weston Olencki, Andy Costello, and the New York Miniaturist Ensemble. He is currently completing a cycle of works for singing string quartet with Chicago’s Spektral Quartet and an evening-length song-cycle entitled Bird Songs for the Cortona Collective.
David has received Masters Degrees in Saxophone (MM) and Music Theory (MA) from the University of Michigan, a BM in Saxophone Performance and a BA in Psychology from Oberlin Conservatory and College. He is a doctoral candidate in Composition at Northwestern University, where his teachers include Lee Hyla, Hans Thomalla, and Jay Alan Yim.
